to hold, to carry, to walk a sound

To hold, to carry, to walk a sound is one of her largest works to date, and her first in bronze. She created the sculpture as part of the Young Artists Fund, an initiative of the Middelheim Museum in Antwerp, which thus gave three young artists the opportunity to create a new work for the museum. In stationary form, we see a bronze circle, on legs and with ten handles. The work can be carried by ten people, and then it really comes to life, according to the artist. Then the work also makes sound, due to the free movement of loose elements inside. Although the sculpture can also stand perfectly on its own, and in that case still holds the intention of carrying, that collective action - carrying and walking with a sculpture - is what really matters to her.
